Trump said a powerful US naval force, led by the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, is heading toward the Gulf. He described the deployment as massive and fully prepared for action. In a January 28 social media post, Trump urged Iran to “Come to the Table” and accept a deal banning nuclear weapons, warning that “the next attack will be far worse” if Tehran refuses.
Iran responded with defiance. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said Iran’s armed forces are ready to respond immediately to any aggression across land, air, and sea. Tehran continues to insist its nuclear program is peaceful and focused on energy, not weapons.
