Organization of Turkic States Expands Turkey Influence Across Central Asia

The Organization of Turkic States is becoming a key platform for regional cooperation across Central Asia and beyond. Led by Turkey, the group brings together countries with shared language and cultural roots to strengthen economic, energy, and security ties.

 

The idea is simple but strategic. By building on shared identity, Turkey is expanding its influence in a region where global powers compete for access, trade, and partnerships.

 

A Growing Platform for Regional Cooperation

Founded in 2009, the Organization of Turkic States includes Turkey, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan. Turkmenistan, Hungary, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus hold observer status.

 

The group works through regular summits and coordinated policies. Its goal is to improve cooperation in trade, transport, education, and security. In recent years, the organization has gained more attention as regional challenges increase.
