Presidential Palace Rejects VP Duterte’s Call for Marcos Drug Test

Malacañang has firmly rejected Vice President Sara Duterte’s latest challenge for President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to take a drug test. Duterte publicly dared the President, saying he cannot refuse.

 

This dramatic exchange took place just days after Marcos' sister, Senator Imee Marcos, shocked the country by accusing him of being a “long-time drug user.”

 

Palace Fires Back: “Did She Ask Her Own Father?”

Malacañang Press Officer Claire Castro reminded the public that former President Rodrigo Duterte was also asked to take a drug test in 2018, which he refused.

 

“Did she also ask her father to undergo a drug test?” Castro said, questioning the Vice President’s consistency.

 

In 2018, then-spokesperson Harry Roque rejected calls for Rodrigo Duterte and his family to take drug tests, even as his administration ran one of the most aggressive anti-drug campaigns in Philippine history.
