Manila is facing rising tension after former congressman Elizaldy “Zaldy” Co, a key figure in the flood control bribery scandal, released a new set of videos while hiding abroad. In the recordings, he accuses the president of demanding kickbacks and senior officials of benefiting from years of corruption tied to flood control projects. The president strongly denies all allegations.

 

Zaldy Co’s Videos Ignite New Questions

In his videos, Co claims he personally delivered large amounts of cash to high-ranking officials. His latest exposé on Tuesday, November 25, accuses House Majority Leader Sandro Marcos of inserting nearly millions of dollars worth of projects into the General Appropriations Acts for 2023, 2024, and 2025. He also alleges that President Marcos inserted billions of dollars into the 2025 budget and received million-dollar kickbacks.
